Welsh lady in Edinburgh

Cannot BELIEVE my first two weeks of uni are over!!!  Cannot BELIEVE I’ve lived in Edinburgh for three weeks!!!!  I reckon I’ve made quite an impact on Scotland, I was even on the news LOL!!!  The story wasn’t about me, about a drug dealer or something stupid, so they were filming outside the court in town when I walked past (pretending I hadn’t seen them) then looked back and winked at the camera!!!!   I’m soooooo funny!!!  Still waiting to hear from any Hollywood producers that were watching lmao!!!  Seriously though, I’m starting to miss home a bit, might have to go back in a couple of weeks time.  Been looking at all my school friend’s photos from their different unis, Swansea freshers week looks well banging!!!   Aled Jones AND Diana Vickers!!!  OMG I’m jealous!!!!

Bet they haven’t got as good a nightlife in Swansea as we do here though, found some mint bars and clubs already!  My favourite so far is Espionage, it’s this seriously huuugeee club with like seven different floors or something!!!  If you get separated from the group you never find them again, meant I’ve had to make some quite quick friends hahaha!!!  Been going out quite a bit with these two girls on my course, Jenny and Andrea, Jenny’s from Ireland and is soooo lush!!!  Honestly, I know I’m pretty but when I’m with her I feel minging, she’s THAT hot!!!  Andrea is very pretty too, but doesn’t wear much make up or show off her body as much so when we’re out she doesn’t get as much of the attention.  She so should show off her body too, I reckon she must be at least a 34 DD!!!! 

This one Wednesday we were in Lulu’s and there were all these guys round us, but most of them were talking to Jenny (I swear her legs were about up to her armpits that night) and the ones that weren’t were talking to me so to one of them I was like, “Have you met my friend Andrea, she’s well funny and really fit”.  Now, I thought Andrea would have said something funny at that introduction (back home the girls would’ve understood the hint) or at least have smiled but no.  She WENT FOR HIM!!!!  Pulled him straight into the middle of the dance floor and they spent the whole night down each others throats, only stopping to drink rofl!!!  Didn’t take him home though, not for lack of him trying mind you, asked her like four times if they could “Go somewhere more quiet” but she said, “I’m not that kind of girl but if you give me your phone, I’ll give you my number” .  He gave her his phone and on his background was a girl!!!!!!  Turns out it was the skanky buggers girlfriend!!!!  So Andrea slapped him into next week!!!!!  

Still hanging out with the hall crew, don’t see much of Paul now, he’s big into his football and stuff so he’s always at the gym or at training or something and, worse than that, has stopped drinking!!!  Said it was interfering with his exercise regime!  I said he was interfering with my drinking regime but he just smiled.  Thought he was cool.  Sian, me and Tim still pre drink before most nights out though so that’s cool.  Tim always sorts out the music, Tim the tuneman we call him now!!!  Must say, started to like some different bands now I’m hanging out with him more.  There’s this one band who he got their latest album, the Manic Streets Preacher I think, anyway, they’re well class, really meaningful words like.  Apparently their guitarist disappeared like 10 years ago and never came back!!!!  Well sad story they should make a film about it!!!  Tim said they are a real band, not the Saturdays, I haven’t told him I’m going to see them in Glasgow in February!!!! 

Better get back to work now, got my first assignment due in on Thursday, uni is proper hard work, and I thought it was gonna be all fun!!!

Cannot believe it’s been an entire week in my new home from home, Heriot-Watt!!!  I’ve done so much already!!!  I was going to say that I’d fitted so much in but that would just sound dodgy LOL!!!  Made a new BFF in my friend Siani, my new big brother Paul (from down the hall!!!!) and my new……. Tim.  I still don’t know, he’s been really weird with me ever since Wednesday night when he went home with some tart from Robert Bryson, I thought we’d been getting really close and I’m pretty sure he was starting to like me.  I’m really good at reading people, it’s a skill I’ve got from my mam, she’s a councillor see, so I know I’m right when I think that people like me.  Never mind, not gonna let that stop me having fun!!!

Tell you what wasn’t fun though, yesterday morning, while I was in the shower (on my own, getting clean, not dirty lmao!!!) the fire alarm started going off!!!!  So of course I leapt out, nothing on but soap suds lolz, and grabbed my mobile to text Paul and Sian to ask WTF!?!  But then the alarm just stopped!!!  Paul texted me back and told me that it was just a fire drill and they happen every week!!!  At 11:00 in the morning!?!  Not cool.  What was even less cool was the fact that the cute pink bath mats that I put down for when I get out of the shower are now SOAKING WET!!!!  I jumped out so quickly that I left the shower running and the puddle on the floor of the shower all just slopped out!!!  So now my bath mats are completely useless!!!

Siani suggested that we went to this place called the Gyle Centre, apparently she went with her family before they left and it’s really easy to get to on the bus.  I’m sure it is if you know which bus to get onto, turns out she really doesn’t, started off fine, got the 25 into town and then she said confidently that is was the 2 we needed to get on, she’d checked.  So we got onto the 2, I was suspicious because it was so small but Sian said “It is a weekday, everyone’s in work not shopping”, “Fair play” I replied.  Long story short, the 2 doesn’t go to the Gyle Centre, the 22 does.  What an IDIOT!!!  Spent all afternoon on the bloody bus and I ended up just going to Boots on Princes Street for the fake eyelashes I needed for the Freshers Party.       

So after all the cocking about on the buses, we went to the Freshers Party (was worth the trip for the fake eyelashes mind, got the Girls Aloud ones, look well mint on), Aggro Santos was CLASS!!!!  He really got everyone in the mood for the night, especially ‘Saint or Sinner’, absolutely LOVED that song!!!  He was looking really HOTTT too!!!  Had a great night, PLENTY of fit lads, I like it when a man makes an effort and lots of effort had been made by lots of men, gave me plenty to choose from it did!!!  Chose in the end though and was taking him back to mine when he had the cheek to suggest that I was wasted!!!  Admittedly, while I was walking backwards to prove that I wasn’t, I did trip over and fall into a nearby bush!!  Went completely arse over tit, gave him quite a view coz of my tiny skirt pmsl!!!  In my defence, I don’t think I was that drunk, I think it was more to do with my killer 6 inch heels!!!  He didn’t help me up, just stood and laughed at me, not very gentlemanly.  I got the last laugh though, let’s just say that when it turned out my heels were a good three inches longer than him I didn’t stick around LOLZ!!!!!

Not blogged in two days, missed me?!?! Been soooo busy since Tuesday, was at the fresher’s fayre like all afternoon yesterday, didn’t do anything in the morning, hungover lol!!!! There were LOADS of stands at the fayre, was mint!!!! Got tonnes of free stuff too, like a reaaallly cute hair-band with a little robin on top awwwwww!!!! Also got a pizza for three pounds and a loyalty card that lets me get any large pizza from Dominos for ten pounds, cashback!!!! Oh, and some free lip balm from Lush!!!! I love Lush, it’s class and it’s all like really organic stuff so it’s so much better for you. I’m all about organic stuff, it’s so much better for the Mother Earth and my body is a temple, I only want the best stuff rubbed on me, in more ways than one MEGA LOLZ!!!!!!

Tim made me and him dinner last night before we all went to Lulu’s, we had pasta and bacon with tomato and herb sauce, he’s such a good cook!!! Was really easy, he just cooked the pasta, put the bacon in the grill and poured the sauce onto the pasta in the last five minutes! That’s a top tip there, it’s a gorgeous meal!!! All I had to do was open the bottle of wine we had with it!!!! He said that he’ll make us a curry one night, with rice and naan bread, just like in a proper restaurant!!! It helped too that he just went into town this afternoon and had a haircut, it was a bit long before but now he’s looking even hotter!!! Think I might have a bit of a crush on him :-S

After dinner we all went into our rooms to get ready for the big night in Lulu’s, I took nearly two hours to shower, do all my make-up and squeeze into my figure hugging dress!!! I think if I’d had anything more for breakfast I would’ve had to have worn a different outfit!!! It’s so tight that if I wore anything other than my smallest G-string I’d look ridiculous lmoa!!! We started drinking about 9ish, back to the drinking games, Paul seems to know more drinking games than anyone else on Earth!!! This time we were playing one with a dice and four wine glasses!!! Once we were all nice and drunk we headed out on the bus, pretty packed it was so we had to split up and chat to some other freshers, obviously this wasn’t a problem for Siani (who, by the way, had EVERYTHING out last night!!) who straight away got sat down next to this fit French guy.

When we got in we didn’t see Sian again but me, Tim and Paul had a great time dancing at first but then they both pulled and left me alone!!!! So I started trying to chat up this freshers helper who I thought had been giving me the eye all night but after about 10 minutes they were so clearly oblivious to my charms I told them I was going to the toilet!!! Their loss, stupid idiot!!! Wasn’t going to let that stop me though, found myself a tasty bit of second year crumpet to get my mouth around LOL!!11!!! Needless to say, I didn’t sleep alone last night!!!! None of my hall did for that matter, Tim didn’t turn up until this morning, he’s been weirdly quiet with me today…

On a separate note, I’ve noticed some posters up around campus this evening concerning my blog. Well I’ve got news for you “Media team”, all the names I use in my blog are aliases so you have NO chance!!!!

Tuesday of my first week in Scotland (my first week outside Wales!!!) and today I got SOAKING!!!!   Had an absolutely massive waterfight outside the union, all those freshers helpers were killing us at first, had these HUGE catapult things that shot water bombs miles!!!  Mint they were!!!!  After a while though they ran out of ammo, then we had them!!!  Paul had the properly genius idea of getting the bin bags from our kitchen and filling them with water and then throwing them all over the helpers!!!  Class idea Paul!!!  Someone else started bringing buckets out, great fun it was!!!  Just went in my favourite mini shorts and my tight red Topshop t-shirt, don’t mind telling you how hot I looked lol!!!  Tim looked well fit, went in just his board shorts and a bright yellow vest.  Happened to walk into his room when he was taking his vest off afterwards, didn’t realise just how ripped his body is!!!  I thought he was just quite skinny but phwoar!!!!  Think I was wrong about him to begin with, turns out he’s really quick and like I said, he’s got an AMAZING body!!!

Siani was telling me earlier that the boys in the hall she slept in last night tried making an omelette in the kettle!!!  ROFL!!!!  They put in two eggs, milk and cheese and then, a few minutes later they had a blown up kettle and one hell of a mess on the kitchen surface LOLZ!!!  My Mam would’ve gone mental if I’d done that at home like!!!  Apparently it made a right bang!!  Siani didn’t actually sleep with the boy from that hall, apparently he was a proper gentleman, offered her a cup of tea before they went to bed!!!  Obviously she was never going to do much with him after that, I mean, a cup of tea!?  Bless!!!  She didn’t come home empty handed though lmao!!!

We (me, Paul, Tim and Sian) didn’t fancy the comedy, Sian says Paul should’ve gone and done a set coz he’s that funny.  She’s starting to suck up to him a bit, but we can all see through it, she’s so obvious.  Anyway, we didn’t fancy going to the comedy night so we went into town to this pub that Paul saw yesterday that had a quiz on tonight and, most importantly, £2 Tennents!!!  Getting quite a taste for this Tennents I am!!!  I mean, it’s no red wine but it’s still pretty good like!!!  Didn’t do very well at the quiz, came second to last, but we had a really funny name, ‘Quiz on your chips’!!!   LOLZ!!!  That was Paul’s idea, he is quite funny! 

I heard that the dog statue outside the pub used to be a real dog!!!  Apparently one of the workers building the church behind the pub used to bring this little dog with him and one afternoon it fell into the cement mixer LMAO!!!  So they kept the dog as a statue outside the pub to remind the man of his friend Bobby awwww!!!

Can’t wait for tomorrow, freshers party in town in a bar called Lulu’s, carnt wait!!!! Planned my outfit already, I’m gonna look FITTT!!!!

Second day here, second hangover lolz! The UV night was MINT!!!! Paul was soooo funny, went in a white t-shirt and hawaiian shorts with my pink bikini over the top!!!! We started off with drinking games, played Yee-haa for like an hour so we were absolutely car parked (I loooove Michael McIntyre he’s soooo cute too!) by the time we got to the party! Me and Siani tried painting our white vests with glow sticks but then her key snapped while we were trying to get into it lmao! She won’t be locking her door anytime soon!! Not that it matters, she had another big strong man in with her last night!!!! Whore!!!11! Between you and me, I think she fakes it, no-one I know is that loud really, not even me after a few too many Jagerbombs!!! Sian asked me earlier why I didn’t pull, I didn’t tell her about my little de-tour to Leonard Horner on the way home ;-) Didn’t last long mind, don’t think he really knew what he was doing bless him! Gave him something to remember me by anyway, hope he wears a tie tonight to cover his neck lol!!!!

Oh yeah, today was the start of the battle of the halls, reckon my hall is going to win by miles!!! We did AWESOMELY at the underwear challenge, had to get a bit of underwear each and tie them all together, what better chance to get out my favourite bra from La Senza and make all the other guys jealous when the saw the size of it LOL, not that they hadn’t seen them already, should’ve seen my cleavage last night!!!!! Think I’ll wear that bra tonight actually it makes me look HUGE rofl!!!! Hopefully I’ll catch that union barman’s eye, I’m a sucker for the Northern Irish accent or “Norn Iron” as he’d call it!!!! Met another couple of lads from Norn Iron (lol) last night, all really up for having a good time, they’d fit right in back in Llanbobyl! We love a drink back home we do!

Spent some time with Tim, the guitarist earlier too, turns out he’s REALLY funny!! But he’s just so quiet!!! Awww, if I can’t get him out of his shell by the end of freshers week (and maybe into my bed mega lolz!!!!!) I will be VERY disappointed in myself. The Welsh are famous for being friendly and I’m a proper Welsh girl I am, no-one better to make a boy feel comfortable! He was really sweet actually, was telling me about his ex-girlfriend who dumped him before they went to uni, because she’d “miss him too much”!?! what a bitch! I think we all know she actually means so that she can sleep around the tart!!! I told him to forget about her and she wasn’t worth it if she was that much of a slag but he didn’t seem to like it when I started bitching about her so I stopped. I might be loud but I can tell when I should be quiet y’know? Anyway, time to get myself into my old skool uniform, and head over to the skool disko!!!! Gonna be banter!!!!

First day of the new academic year here at Heriot-Watt, and it hasn’t been without incident. 

Well, y’know what, they weren’t wrong those boyos in the union!  Wasn’t here for five minutes before I found my new BFF, Sian, a fellow Welsh-woman, and as proud as I am!  Alright, so she’s from WEST Wales, a far cry from my bootiful village of Llanbobyl in the Brecon Beacons, but she’s a lovely girl.  Bit of a slut-bag mind, got off with three different lads last night before bringing one lucky man back to our hall!  And OMG what a noise she made!  He was a bit of a stud by the sounds of it!  To be fair, she did have quite a bit to drink, I’d never met someone who could drink like me before Siani, (she calls me Manni, lol) but she kept up with me, bowl for bowl of mid-Wales’ finest red vino (that’s French for wine, more than just a pretty face I am)!  “I love a drink as much as the next person!” she said “Not if the next person’s me” I replied!  A brilliant example of that famous Welsh wit!

My other best friend (a different kind of friend though lol!!!) is Paul from down the hall (Paul from down the hall rofl, I’m funny), he made sure I was alright all night love him!  Kept topping up my glass whenever it got more than half empty, a true gentleman he is!!  He got here before all of us and had his room set up, got a mint speaker system he has.  Was blasting out ‘Missing You’ by The Saturdays when I got there, I was like, “TUUUUUUNE”!!  I knew straight away that I couldn’t wait to get to know him, if you know what I mean, LOLZ!!!  Told him straight away though, “I’m not easy me, I’ll expect at least dinner and a night in a top club before you get a piece of THIS action!”  He just said “Time and place, babe, time and place!”  He’s such a charmer! 

So once we’d all eaten (I made my first ever meal, chicken dippers, waffles and spaghetti , with bowl of wine number three) we started getting ready for Indie Patrol, OMG!!!  they were brilliant by the way, I’d have got down on my knees for the bassist, he was sooooo FIT!!!  And the singer had a cracking voice, fair play.  I’m a sucker for a musician, grade three flute myself so I feel like, a deeper connection with other musicians that other people just don’t get.  One of the other lads on my hall plays guitar, not bad looking, reckon about three drinks or so and he’d do it for me!!!  Seemed quite boring until he got a few shots of sambuca down him, then he was a real party animal!  Paul was reeeeallly funny too!  Kept the drinking games going until late in the night and OMG he showed us this amazing one with a pack of cards and a biro, classic freshers week banter it was!

UV night in the union tonight!  Cannot wait, it’ll be an absolute scream!!!  Not a big building like I was expecting the union, but dew dew it was good fun when it was packed, plenty of sausage to pick from ;-)  I’d better go and see if my hall wanna go get ready, brought some UV paint specially for tonight, gonna get MASHED!!!
